Being a street captain is an opportunity to make a difference on the very street you live.
WBNA's 36th Annual Neighborhood Cleanup is Saturday, April 27, 2019, and needs the organizing power of street captains to be successful. Street captains are neighbors like you who help rally nearby neighbors to take part in cleaning up the street you live on.
It's EASY to be a street captain!
Click on the red button above to sign up, and choose YOUR street from the drop down menu.
Two is more fun than one! Got a friend/neighbor on your street you'd like to work with? Encourage them to sign up as a street captain, too!
BEFORE: Join in a Flyer Flash Mob with other street captains on Wednesday, April 17 (5:30-7:30pm). Flyer your street to spread the word, then meet up after for complimentary treats at a neighborhood watering hole (TBD).
DURING: On Cleanup Day (April 27), work with neighbors to clean and green your street! If your street is in good shape and cleans up quickly, consider taking on a “beautification” project like weeding and planting bulbs in tree wells, or move on to a vacant lot or other neglected neighborhood spot that needs attention. Cleanup Day is rain or shine.
AFTER: Kick back and enjoy a free cookout at WBNA for all volunteers immediately following the Cleanup!
Our goal is to have teams of two street captains per street grouping. If one captain is bi-lingual Spanish-speaking, that's even better! Please encourage a neighbor to partner with you for Street Captain duty. SIGN-UP DEADLINE IS APRIL 16 (click button at top of page to sign up)!
As a captain, you're invited to the Street Captain Flyer Flash Mob on Wednesday, April 17. At this pre-Cleanup event you'll flyer your street with other volunteers, and meet back at The Avery for a free drink!
Tired of seeing the same problem areas near your home week after week? Here's your chance to make it better in one day all while getting to know your neighbors!
