WBNA introduces Neighborhood Nights, an all-in-one monthly meeting where neighbors come together to explore a planned community topic or issue, check out a WBNA committee, and/or play basketball at open gym! This once-a-month community gathering is an easy yet structured way to get to know WBNA, our committees, and your neighbors.
Neighborhood Nights happens on or close to the first Tuesday of every month from 6 to 8pm at West Broadway Middle School on Bainbridge Avenue, and offers free food, childcare, and Spanish interpretation.
Neighborhood Nights Schedule
6 - 7pm WBNA General Meeting
7 - 8pm WBNA Committee Meetings
From 6 to 7pm there will be a general meeting for all neighbors on a planned given topic or topics. For example, our annual Conversation with Elected Officials town hall style meeting will occur from 6-7pm during Neighborhood Night in March. Other months will feature topics such as our West Side Solar program or getting input from neighbors on the use of new city funds coming to Dexter Training Ground this year.
Following the General Meeting, WBNA committees will break out for their respective meetings from 7 to 8pm in designated classrooms in the building. Having all committee meetings happen on the same night and in a shared location simplifies our calendar, makes it easier for neighbors to explore more than one committee, and allows committees to collaborate more with each other.
Years ago, WBNA held General Meetings every month with neighbors. This new meeting format is a return to our roots with the goal of more interactivity, connection, transparency, energy and fun.
WBNA Neighborhood Nights begins February 6, and will meet monthly except for July and August.
