The following update was shared on February 8, 2021, by Dwayne Keys of the South Providence Neighborhood Association (SPNA) and Fix the 6/10 Coalition.
Subject: Fix The 6/10 Coalition - Sample Results & Soil Management Plan
Thank you all so much for your patience with the Fix The 6/10 Coalition as we move forward with next steps following last month's meeting with representatives from the RI Department of Health (RIDOH) and the RI Department of Environmental Management (DEM).
Listed below is a link to DEM's website where you may access a copy of the soil management plan & sample results from prior testing conducted at the 6/10 construction site: http://dem.ri.gov/programs/wastemanagement/site-remediation/6-10-connector.php
Our coalition is still waiting to receive DEM's oversight plan, timeline, and any other related information in efforts to address our concerns about the contamination at the site.
We're still collecting questions & concerns related to this matter and will submit to RIDOH and DEM for them to answer as best as possible. Please feel free to contact us by phone/text at (401) 369-1334 or by replying back to [southprovneighbors@gmail.com] if you have any additional questions.
