Armory Farmers Market Is Back with More Food & Fun!

Now in its 16th year, the Armory Farmers Market begins its 2018 season on Thursday, May 31st.

The neighborhood is anticipating a lively and delicious market every Thursday in the park from 3:30-dusk. Many of our old time regulars like The Coffee Guy, Great Harvest Bread Company, and Hill Orchards will be back, plus we’re welcoming some newbies like Olga’s Cup & Saucer, Sanctuary Herbs, and local youth farmers from Southside Community Land Trust’s City Farm.

Thanks to everyone who filled out our Armory Market survey this spring. We listened to your feedback, so for dinner options we’re adding a few new ready-to-eat food vendors into the mix. In addition to our faithful food trucks look out for a rotation of cool start-up food businesses from our west side neighbors Pilotworks, as well as Matilda’s Empanadas. Come out and show your support so we can continue to keep the options plentiful.

You’ll be able to shop for a little bit of everything from produce to bread to coffee to meat and eggs and we are crossing all of our fingers and toes that we’ll have a seafood vendor this year. Stay tuned. Thursday evening in the summer is the perfect time to wind down the week with a dinner picnic in the park with friends and family (humans and dogs) and to get a jump on your weekend grocery shopping.

Thanks to WBNA, the West Side Thursdays performance series and Beer Gardens are back for three weeks in the middle of summer – July 12, 19 and 26 – plus Trinity Repertory returns with its bilingual (English/Spanish) Shakespeare in the Park performance of The Tempest on June 28.

There are a lot more events lined up, as well, like chef demos, s’mores making, tea parties, bike tune ups, even a bouncy house for the kids! Stop by the welcome table and follow Farm Fresh RI on Instagram for updates and details.

See you in Dexter Park on Thursdays starting May 31st!

Farm Fresh RI's Armory Farmers Market is located in Dexter Training Ground (aka Armory/Dexter Park) near Parade and Hudson Streets, and runs through October 25th, the last Thursday in October.
